God is with us!
We are not alone in our joys, our sorrows, our endings or our beginnings. Let us journey together with God as we begin a new chapter of Christian Education at Chalmers.
As the year progresses, we will learn more about God, about each other and about what God is calling us to do with our lives and for the life of the church.
I have come to Kingston with my family, after living and working in Sault Ste. Marie for the past fourteen years. Being closer to my family and to pursue meaningful career options are two of the main reasons for moving to Kingston. Kingston is familiar to me as I did both my occupational therapy and education studies at Queen’s. I attended Chalmers from 1984-89 and again during the 1993/94 school year.
Professionally, I have been working as a pediatric occupational therapist, recently focusing in the area of augmentative and alternative communication. I have also worked in the school system as a consultant for children with multiple exceptionalities, and have done some periods of supply teaching.
In Kingston, I will be teaching 3 – 6 year olds in the Clover Garden at the Mulberry Waldorf School, and I will be teaching the choir class to students in grades 5 to 8.
Being involved in the work of the church has always been an important part of my life. Most recently, I have been worshipping at Central United Church in Sault Ste. Marie where I have taken an active part in both the children’s and music ministries there. I am now looking forward to the opportunity of working with all of you at Chalmers as we continue to nurture the growth of the vital ministry for children, youth and their families in our community. God is with us on this journey.
Thanks be to God.
