Children and Youth Programs
The faith formation program for children and youth at Chalmers attempts to provide a welcoming environment where children can engage their faith in meaningful ways. Rooted in Biblical story we use a variety of activities to encourage the children to experience God’s love made known through Jesus. Children are encouraged to ask questions and articulate for themselves the wonder of God’s love in their lives and the world.
Margaret Moncrieff and many volunteers provide leadership to the children’s program. Sarah Wallace provides care in the Nursery and volunteers are always welcome.
Youth – Youth United (Grades 6 and up)
The Youth will gather once a month, during service, to explore their faith and to have fun. There will also be opportunities to participate in community-building projects, such as Warm Feet For The Street and the Advent Event, and to join with other young people to hang out at fellowship events such as rock climing or midnight pizza parties. Watch the Home page and bulletin for information on upcoming outings.
Children- Children’s Fellowship (JK – Grade 5)
Gather together for Circle time, following their participation in the worship service, on Sunday mornings. Age appropriate stories, games, crafts and music support the program as we grow in faith together.
Nursery Care (Infants – 3 years)
Care is available in the Nursery beginning at 10 am each Sunday. There is always one staff person and at least one volunteer in the Nursery. The schedule in the Nursery is adjusted to meet the particular needs of the children gathered.
